And that from the shadows of her past something - or someone - comes to get her...

I liked The Night Country less than The Hazel Wood. I had a lot of trouble getting into it at the beginning, because it was quite a while ago that I read The Hazel Wood. Some things were told from the previous book and slowly more came up, but it took a while.

In this book there was also a change in perspective, which sometimes made it more interesting to read, but in some parts it was also a lot less interesting and at those moments it was a shame that there was a change in perspective..
Like book 1, this book is very well written. It is better to read parts 1 and 2 right in a row, because you are still completely in the story.
