The scaly ink fungus - Coprinus Comatus

The time of autumn has come again. This is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year in terms of nature. The autumn colors that embrace you and give warmth and color to the forest. Mushrooms and fungi that shoot up from the ground. It has something magical. During a walk in the forest I came across this beautiful mushroom. It is the scaly ink fungus, also called Coprinus Comatus.The ink fungus (Coprinus) is available in a hundred species.
This scaly ink fungus as shown in the picture above is the most common species in the Netherlands. You can find them anywhere, both in the forest and on grassland and fields, as well as outside the city.The young ink fungus is oval in shape. After that, the shape of the hat of the mushroom turns into a bell-shaped whole, turns brown and tears off. The older ink fungi discolor from brown to ink black.
