While some only laugh at videos shared on the internet that can present us with rabble and comic situations, in the program “The Science of the Absurd”, whose second season is broadcast on the NatGeo Mundo channel, they are analyzed and the logical and scientific explanation is sought for each one. The second season premiered at 7 p.m. from 27 April simultaneously in the US and Latin America; episodes each lasting 30 minutes, can also be watched on YouTube.
At the head of the program is Mexican actor and host Alfonso Herrera (former RBD), who in each episode of the program is responsible for transmitting the video in question, analyzing and explaining it with the help of ultra-slow motion animations and cinematography, showing between fifty and sixty bloopers every week.
Chemistry, physics and biology come into play in the program, to explain or not make sense of the nonsense or act that ended in failure, analyzes every angle, as well as its weight, volume, moment and even how the brain works at that precise moment.
In an interview, Herrera acknowledged that in his student years he was quite attached to the subjects of physics, chemistry and biology, but what fascinates him about “The Science of the Absurdity”, is how simple all concepts are explained.
“Many of the things that are raised in the program are much easier to understand, I am not the only person who has received the benefits of this, I think a lot of people have learned physical and chemical concepts of processes. (The program) has been very helpful to me as it has for many people,” he said by phone.
In today's society where we are immersed in the trend of making and sharing videos on social networks and where content goes viral is the most relevant thing, “The Science of the Absurd” comes to show all these contents in another way, even to the already classic “bloopers”.
“We see what happens now that they are given a scientific approach, they are looking for something beyond just entertaining, being able to give something deeper without leaving aside the fun that is the clear objective of the program,” said the actor.
For Herrera to develop his conductor role in this program has allowed him to have a close relationship with the NatGeo company and what is more, to have a project for the whole family.
