The Simurg is the symbol Persian of the perfection .
Literally, it means “Thirty Birds” and alludes to an ancient oriental legend.
In the century XI , the writer Farid Uddin Atta r elaborated a beautiful allegory on this subject entitled “The Colloquium of Birds”.
It could be summed up like this...
Tired of the anarchy imposed by the C eleven of the Birds , they all leave in search of The Simurg , their remote king, of which they have only contemplated one pen .
Many perish on the crossing and others deserting.
Only thirty birds they reach the mountain where the Simurg. There they find him and discover that the journey has purified them and that the Simurg are they...
Personally it seems to me an amazing and fascinating story and it is one of my favorites . Especially it is the one that started my love towards the Persian Culture
