The true story of Chucky
#pavements Chucky is a fictional character, created by Don Mancini, who hit the big screen in 1988 when the movie Child's Play (known in Mexico as Chucky, the Devil Doll) was released.
It is a doll possessed by Charles Lee Ray, a murderer who after committing a crime is chased and cornered by the police, in his escape attempt he is injured, but resists dying and performs a ritual to transfer his soul to the body of the toy of the fashion line called Chico Bueno. Once he manages to own the plastic doll, he searches for a victim to be able to return to a human body, that is when he chooses Andy to fulfill his goal.
The character's origin dates back to the 1980s, when its creator, George Donald, better known as Don Mancini, devised the story of a criminal who struggles to continue committing crimes even after death and finds in a line of toys the answer to his most macabre desires. In interviews, Mancini explained that his father's work inspired him, because from a young age he saw how advertising agencies manipulate people to make them buy fashion objects, as in this case happens with the Chico bueno dolls.
“My father is engaged in advertising and marketing, I have been very exposed to all this and since childhood I was aware of the cynicism with which companies sell products to children.
“I wanted to write a dark satire about how advertising affects children,” she said for the Post Mortem podcast that picked up Entertainment Weekly.

I remember when I saw that movie, I didn't sleep at night lol. Nowadays I'm no longer afraid of those things thank god, but let's say I liked the saga of the movies. Chucky caused a lot of furor in his years and still does today.
