The Venezuelan Superband

With that title and everyone Venezuelan knows who it is, Guaco the superband. With its countless successes over the years that have remained in the memory and heart of many zulians. Composed of top musicians who with their talent give the unique sound that characterizes them, but, this group did not reach success overnight, so I come to tell you a little about their origins in the 60s.

It was founded by a group of young students, including Mario Viloria, Fernando Plátano Domínguez, Alfonso Pompo Aguado and Luis Rincón, later joined Gustavo Aguado. They aspire to compete with groups with greater piper tradition existing at the time in Zulia State such as Estrellas del Zulia, Rincón Morales, El Saladillo and Cardinals of Success.

The creation and name of the group are attributed to Mario Viloria who takes the name of a white bird, locally known as Guaco bird to baptize the group, as a specimen of this bird flew above his house where the group practiced and rehearsed during its beginnings.
In the beginning they are part of the group: Maritza Morales who becomes the female voice, José Castillo quadrist and composer, Heriberto Molina and singers Alcides Bonilla, José Tineo and Tino Rodríguez. Next to them was Gustavo Adolfo Aguado León, Alfonso's brother who already projected himself as a soloist, but required special permission to act, because he was a minor at that time. #culture #music
