The Whistle

#shortstory The story tells, that long ago there was a young man who was very spoiled by his parents and who was very spoiled. Every time he asked to eat, they immediately gave it to him.

One day, this boy wanted to eat Venado, and his father went to hunt him but it took a long time to return. El Muchacho was looking forward to him, but when he saw his Father bring nothing, he became so angry that he murdered him, then opened his guts and ate them. When his mother learned about the crime of her Son, she cursed him, then they released the dogs to attack him. When he was badly injured, he was smeared in the wounds of Chile (hot pepper) as a deadly punishment and to leave forever. After all this, they never saw him again.

It is said that this young man, became the Silbon, a spirit that is whistling and carrying a sack that, inside it, are the bones of his Father who murdered. This being, is afraid of Chile and the dogs, the same ones who caused their death. It is said to diswalk the Venezuelan plains.
