In the summer of 2022, I had a whole list of walks that I would like to take. And the Woldlake Forest was also on it. I had read that special dragonflies fly around there. At the end of August, I had time to go there with my brother. Through all kinds of small roads, we came to a sign with a walking route. We just put the car in the roadside.

The first thing I found in the tall grass was this lovely wasp spider.

She had created a huge web.

The ditch we walked past was thickly covered with crab shear and you can see the white flowers of the frog bite. The higher yellow flowers are of the great bladderwort. A carnivorous aquatic plant. There are catch blisters on the leaves underwater, with which the plant captures small aquatic insects. In such a catfish there is a vacuum. When an animal touches the hairs on the vesicle, it shoots open and is sucked in. The innocent yellow flowers are mainly visited and pollinated by gliders.

Too bad I couldn't take a better picture of it. They were too far away.

This large hedgehog head stood beautifully on the edge.

As you can see, there is a wide path along the ditch. The reeds had just all been mowed so that we had a good view of the water. Because we were mainly looking for dragonflies. And there were plenty of them hunting in the air.

The dragonflies were the best at posing.

I zoomed in on this dragonfly because I had the feeling that it was a species I had never seen before. And I didn't want to drive him away until I got him on the hook.
