This morning I read an article from Tilburg, the city where I was born.
Traffic lights, when did they first appear in our country.
This also reminds me of our neighbor, who turned 96 years old and where we regularly went to deliver groceries.
When I stepped in there, I went back in time, nothing had changed since she lived there.
Toilet outside, no fridge or TV has ever been there. No steaming water. And another gas lamp by the stairs.
She regularly told me stories, such as who drove the first cars in Tilburg. The Textile Manufacturers, she could name them like that.
Unfortunately, as a child, I wasn't busy with that, but think back to that.
It was impressive, though. Also thinking about what changes she has experienced in her life.
From horse and cart, to the first cars, traffic officers and then the traffic lights and the entire industrialization.
And then the question arises: where was the first traffic light in the world, and London has the scoop on December 9, 1868.
