Really everything is getting more expensive. In addition to my tips for saving on gas consumption and electricity costs, you will find tips to save on your groceries in this article.
1. Create a shopping list and buy only what you need. For example, take an hour on Sundays to come up with your meals for the coming week. Use your supermarket leaflet and create your weekly menu based on offers and the contents of your freezer/pantry.
2. If you have enough time, try visiting different supermarkets.
3. This tip is in line with tip 2. At Jumbo, Coop and Albert Heijn, you can easily put your shopping list in the app, so you know in advance whether there is a cheaper option for your product in the store or another store.
4. Bring your own bag/crate. A bag quickly costs 15 cents.
5. Buy locally, for example eggs from the chicken farmer, fridge at the farm or vegetables at the market.
6. Do groceries early in the morning, there are waste bins at a number of supermarkets with products that last until today's date. Often this also includes products that you can freeze.
7. If you have a week in which you have to spend less on groceries due to, for example, a dinner party or because you keep eating at work, use the money you have left over to buy products for your pancer/freezer. (Hoarding)

9. Eat less meat; meat/chicken is very expensive these days. Meat substitutes on the other hand are a lot cheaper.
10. Stoop in the supermarket; at the bottom of the shelf are often the cheap (private label) products.
11. Do not buy pre-cut vegetables/potatoes, which saves a lot of costs.
12. Do you like meat toppings on your sandwich? Try slicing a sausage yourself.
13. Buy cheese in bulk, look at the kilo price. Of course, make sure that no extra amount of cheese is eaten.

I do a lot of these tips too. What is striking in recent weeks is that the shelves at the bottom are enormously empty. Everyone is now going for private label.

Yes, I also do a lot of these tips, I have an app on my phone where I keep track of prices, sometimes goes up by dimes. Scare though.
