Tholen & Poland...

Ilawa

You are our sister city since 1994,
for more than 20 years we have been allowed to give 'each other'.
Yeah... each other, that might sound weird,
but we share a piece of life.

We share our concerns,
our desires, but also our need.
After the fall of the Iron Curtain, the need for support was enormous!

Bringing goods gave your build-up enormous support in all kinds of areas.
To this day you show gratitude and we,
Municipality of Tholen will not leave you.

You should hear:
On 'our' King's Day, the whole Iława is decorated in orange.
Broadly, this day is celebrated in our sister city.

This fact testifies to a very warm band.
And we, we learn every year
of this very special Polish country.

1300 km is Iława from us.
I am grateful that at that time the municipality of Tholen
our relationship has entered into.

We share art, sport and culture.
We also share our mentality,
what an unprecedented warm people
and how about the differences in nature.

45 different species of dragonflies, the tree frog,
the sea eagle and so I can go through for hours,
but I'll end this poem with a message
intended for everyone's ear.

“As long as you can offer each other something
and I mean it absolutely, not financially,
only then the band forms a SisterBellijk whole”
