Through other eyes
It was just a small bottle. Very carefully I took the cap off and from that moment on I knew for sure that my life would never be the same again. Natúúrally, I didn't believe it. When I got the bottle from that lady. We just got talking on one of my walks in the park. She suddenly took it out of her richly decorated purse and said it was just the right time for me. What else could I do? I didn't want to disappoint her.
Following my way, I looked over my shoulder one more time. She smiled at me with a friendly nod. At home, I put the bottle next to the fruit bowl in the kitchen.
I had all the time that day to read, write, do the household. But little came of it. After an hour, I hadn't done anything. The bottle kept in my mind. I threw the cleaning stuff aside. Curious as I am, I just couldn't resist. I had to see what would happen. What the woman told me was highly unlikely. But, yes, isn't much of what happens in life a total surprise? And well, a little adventure on an empty Sunday wouldn't hurt.
I grabbed the bottle. It was about the size of my thumb. In light brown glass was a clear liquid. As clear as water, but slightly thicker. I followed the instruction I had received: one drop in my palm and then touching an animal with that hand. The animal I saw first was an ant carrying through my kitchen. I laughed at myself. If you could see me sitting here... I seemed crazy. It's that no one sees me... with my hand, I gently touched the ant. See, nothing's happening, I thought. Well, what did I expect?
I just felt a little twisted. Probably because of the tension. I blinked in the hope that it would go away. I got up. And, how bizarre! I saw myself standing through the ant's eyes. I had changed perspective. That's weird. But what fantastic too! She was just right. That pretty strange lady. It really worked. A world literally opened up for me.
