Tinkering with straws
Straws are usually candle-straight, sometimes straight with a nod in. So you can't do round things with it, without cutting the straws into pieces. But that's not entirely true. With scissors, cut in the straw and then cut the straw by the length. A bit difficult to explain, which is why you can view the photos below.
Paper straws are fun and cheap craft material!

Chick supplies: 8 yellow straws, a small piece of red or orange straw, 3 feathers, scissors (“3D scissors”), wiggle eyes and glue.
