tips of travel
In the beginning, you make a lot of travel mistakes. Travel experience is a process of missed buses, foolish behavior, cultural ignorance, and countless small mistakes. Then, one day, you begin to move seamlessly through airports and integrate into new cultures like a fish into the water.
I want to help you speed up this process and avoid my mistakes (and I often make a lot of them). That's why I have put together this huge list of my best travel tips that cover everything so you can reach your full travel ninja potential. I have learned these tips over the last twelve years. With these travel tips, you will save money, sleep better, get off the beaten track more, meet locals and just be a better traveler.
Here are the best tips in the world
1. Always pack a towel
This is the key to successful galactic hitchhiking and just plain common sense. You never know when you'll need it, be it on the beach, at a picnic or just to dry off. Many hostels do provide towels, but you never know and a small towel will not make your bag that heavy.
2. Buy a small backpack/suitcase
If you buy a small backpack (I prefer a volume of about 35/40 liters), you are forced to pack light and not take too much. Humans have a natural tendency to fill up space. So if you pack light but have a lot of extra space in your bag, you will end up saying, "Well, I can take more", and then regret it.
3. Pack light
It's OK to wear the same t-shirt a few days in a row. Take half the clothes you think you'll need... you will not need as much as you think. Write down a list of essentials, cut it in half, and then pack just that! As I said, since you bought yourself a small backpack, you do not have much space for extra stuff anyway!
