To eat less meat I am looking for tasty variations with, for example, tofu. Tofu has no taste of itself. A lot of people don't like to eat either. And I can imagine that. I don't like it uncooked either. I don't like the mouthfeel. Crunchy and flavored I eat it every now and then.

I sometimes marinate tofu with ketjap. So I thought, this should be done with Mediterranean herbs and then in oil. Like cheese more or less. It led me to an experiment. The version as in the link below I have not eaten yet. #watetenwevandaag #yoorskookstudio

Tofu in basil oil

On my work table there was another plant basil. I had to do something with this. And I had tofu left because I had a 500-gram slice. Which is clearly too much for one meal for two people. The basil I cut off close to the earth. I put the stems with the leaves in the blender together with enough oil to make it a marinade. I don't have a picture of this, since it looks more like a swamp. So not attractive.

Cut the tofu into pieces. The oil distributes into two lockable jars and put the tofu cubes in it. I put this in the sun and let it marinate for a week.
