Belonging to the Sequoia genus and classified in the sempervirens family, these five trees are the largest in the world. They are located in Redwood National Park in northern California in the United States.
Hyperion is the name given to the tallest tree and living being on the planet at 115.55 meters tall. It is named after the titan Hyperion, son of the god Uranus and the goddess Gaea. The second is Helios, with 114.58 meters high, this tree was considered the tallest tree in the world until the discovery of Hyperion. It is followed by Icarus in third place with 113.14 meters high and 3.78 meters in diameter. The fourth is the Stratosphere Giant is still in full growth, with a height of 113.11 meters, its exact location is not known to help its protection. While the fifth, which was once considered the tallest, is the Fusion Giant has a height of 112.71 meters and its trunk has a diameter of 4.40 meters.
Whether big or small, without them we would not have life on the planet, seeing the magnitude of these trees, I can only imagine standing next to one of them (like the girl in the picture) to continue convincing me that next to the greatness of nature, we are nothing, and we owe it respect.
