I shared a story about my Dad with a friend who just lost his father and he found it touching. I'm sharing it here in case other people are inspired to trust the message where they have had lost or to share something with those close to them similar to what he shared with me. I’m happy to get to share a pearl of his wisdom.

Growing up, whenever the topic of death came up, in addition to whatever other conversation would occur, he would often reiterate a message he told me many times that went something like this:

“My Son, if I were to die suddenly, I want you to know everything between us was perfect. Even if our last conversation was a fight, it doesn’t mean anything. I love you and you love me and that’s infinitely deeper than everything else. And in the presence of death, all the nonsense falls away and only love remains.”He added many related elements like that the love outlives death; that if I died not to be scared and that he would find me and guide me; that he experienced more goodness than he ever expected or deserved and no one has ever been more fortunate than him; and that his kids were the central highlight of his life.

This message about being connected no matter what was such a gift to prevent the types of regret and guilt that plague so many people when they lose someone close to them. Aware of the fragility and preciousness of life, it is good to leave every interaction/ temporary bitterness or some bad words exchange with eachother consciously as best as we can. And, it’s important to ground in the whole relationship and life arc more than the last bit and remember that love is deeper than everything else. AGAINST HATE THERE IS LOVE, BUT AGAINST LOVE THERE WILL BE NOTHING BUT ONLY LOVE EVERY WHERE, TO THE INFINITE/ NEVER ENDING LEVELS.

Beyond something to share with your kids, this can be a meaningful gift shared with anyone very close to you.

I love you Dad. Thank you for All the Love, Care and thoughtfulness, Happiness and creativity you brought to parenting. By Not Sharing any aches and pain u went through, sleepless nights you spent with some sadness in ur Heart just because of Your kids, Feeling guilty about ur own self that your Kids are not getting all the Luxury as well Basic things, Sometimes not even exchanging a single word with Mom and Ur kids when we asked You for Toys Cycle, own TV, At that time I have seen few tears In your eyes when u were sad because all other family members newer and bigger wishes, I have seen those few Gems flowing from Ur eyes, by hiding behind that blanket when You were thinking that everyone is Sleeping, and those Crying moments when within you, your tears were not water but Blood just because you were having no paisa in ur pocket for our endless never ending wishes many times when Mom also were complaining you by doing lil comparison with other Materialistically blessed kids with All of us that other kids have X Y things but our kids have nothing. while she was sharing those words with you I saw her crying also, but in our culture we kids and Women can Cry but it's really very hard for a Men to show his pain through his own tear, That convenience was not there for you because You Are Male. I don't know with what material you are made of Papa. A Legendary Super Hero You are.
