True Love
A beautiful princess was looking for consort. Nobles and wealthy suitors came from everywhere with wonderful gifts: jewels, lands, armies, thrones.. Among the candidates was a young commoner who had no more wealth than love and perseverance. When it was time for him to speak, he said:

That's how the hours and days went by. The suitor stayed outside the palace, enduring the sun, winds, snow and frosty nights. Without blinking, with a fixed view on his beloved's balcony, the brave subject kept steadfast in his endeavor without fainting for a moment.
From time to time the curtain of the royal window showed the slender figure of the princess, who with a noble gesture and a smile approved the task. Everything was going to wonder, bets were made and some optimists started planning the festivities.
On the ninety-ninth day, the inhabitants of the area went out to cheer up the next monarch. It was all joy and joy, but when the deadline was an hour away, before the astonished gaze of the attendees and the perplexity of the princess, the young man got up and, without giving any explanation, slowly moved away from the place where he had stayed a hundred days.
A few weeks later, while wandering along a lonely road, a child from the region caught up with him and asked him at close range:
“What happened to you? You were one step away from achieving the goal, why did you miss that opportunity? Why did you retire?.
With deep dismay and poorly disguised tears, the commoner answered quietly:
“The princess didn't save me a day of suffering, not even an hour. I didn't deserve my love.
