Craft Tip The Letterthief
The picture book Alphabet ( Charlotte Dematons / Publisher Hoogland & van Klaveren ) is a great book where children learn the alphabet! You will find (at all) no text, only very beautiful drawings, a page for every letter of the alphabet. On that letter page you only see things from that letter. A super fun and educational discovery and search book! Also, on every page you will see the letter thief, if you look well. Beware of that, the male is always trying to steal the letter! For example, the page of the letter B: B is made of bath towel on which a broccoli in swimsuit admires the blue mountains, while on the flower bench a broccoli in bikini looks at their cauliflower in his buggy. And this is what you see on the page of the letter T: T is from dentist - a dachshund - who pulls a tooth from a tyrannosaurus rex with forceps while his dedicated dental assistant - a tapir - watches. Become curious? View the SPECIMEN HERE ! The picture book Alphabet is so popular that we really wanted to come up with a craft tip. Of course we craft the funny striped letterthief! One that is easy for children to make and that you can use with the book, as an alphabet learning method. Or just for fun! Also this craft is not expensive, everyone has toilet roll, papers and glue in the house. We also made the red backpack for his back, because he can put the letters in there. Supplies:Toilet roll, Black, white, yellow, green and red paper. 2 white chenille threads, 20 black ironing beads, wobbly eyelets, puncture pen, scissors and a good glue, e.g. from Collall. Get the supplies ready. Cut 3 strips of white and 3 strips of black paper (approx. 2cm x15cm), 2 small strips of black (1cm x 6cm) and a round of white of approx. 5cm. (We used the outline of the glue bottle) Glue the back of the roll and stick the bottom black strip around the roll. Stick the second white strip slightly over it. And so on. Put glue on a black small strip and stick it in the middle of the head. You stick the 2 other strips above and below. Cut hands and feet. Cut out green ears and a yellow nose. Of course, a yellow pump or ironing bead is also possible. Stick eyelets and draw the mouth with fineliner. At the top, pierce 2 holes for the arms and at the bottom (some at the front) holes for the legs. Insert the chenille thread through the holes. Bead 5 black beads on each arm and leg. (Do you only have black chenille thread? Then thread 5 white beads on it) Bend the hands and feet and glue the paper hands and feet so you can stick them on. Let the glue dry for a while, so do not touch it:) Cut out of red (folded in half) paper something like this. No backpack is the same, so it doesn't have to be exactly. It's nice if the backpack is wider than the wcrol, so you can see the bag behind its back. Cut 2 strips (approx. 12cm), that will be the handles. Draw on front and back some stitching and a closure and possibly letters, if you like. Or write your name on the backpack! Glue the handles on the inside of the roll, let it dry for a while. Then curl or bend them back and fold the last piece as an adhesive edge. Glue the back of the letter thief and stick the bag on his back. If the bag is tight, you can slide the handles between the bag parts and glue them together. Here you can see the letter thief from behind. Would he have any letters in his backpack? Of course, the letterthief still likes to pose for you! Sitting... And half lying down. Voila! Goodbye letterthief, we'll see you in the book! See more fun crafts? Or do you want to react or maybe give this craft a like?
