Underwater volcanoes 🌋🌊

Underwater volcanoes form on the seabed like fissures where superheated molten rock called magma emerges 🔥. They are characteristic of rupture zones where crustal plates form and are found in all major ocean basins of the earth .
What are volcanic eruptions like under water?
Conditions during underwater eruptions are very different from onshore eruptions. When magma reaches seabed level, it encounters cold ocean water, cools rapidly, alters its chemical structure and gives rise to basalt rock (earth's crust), often called “pillow lava” due to its rounded shape.
The violence of the eruption will be directly correlated with the depth and pressure at which the volcano is. However, this phenomenon can cause tsunamis by displacing large bodies of water.
Benefits
Not everything is bad, underwater eruptions generate new borders on ocean plates, supply heat and chemicals to some of the most unusual and rare ecosystems on Earth.
