#education The concern of the middle school student in my time was to think about the possibility of being out of place in public universities since private universities have always been expensive and unpayable for many.
We only wanted to have a good academic average to choose more safely for higher education as this was the main requirement.
Today we see with great concern our empty universities, because of multiple reasons and even more worrying is the dropout of a large percentage of students already enrolled.
One example is the thirteen (13) active students who survive college dropout within a section of 35 new income youth. The remaining twenty-two (22) belong to the group formed by those who permanently drop out of studies in times of pandemic.
The main cause of dropout in Venezuela is the economic situation in the country, it is normal for students to leave their homes in search of work to help their family group.
Gerardo a young social communication student tells us why he stopped studying.
“From my point of view I decided to work because I don't live with my parents. I currently live with my aunts who are older people and my two little brothers. This way I can help in my house. I also cover the study expenses of my brothers.”.

Amid confinement, youth unemployment has skyrocketed and many students are unable to cover school expenses, including mobile internet costs as fees for such service increased disproportionately .

As a result we see the demotivation of young people, whether by pandemic, economic situation, class modalities, high internet costs, it would be interesting to delve into each of the factors and/or agents previously identified in order to mitigate the process of university dropout.
