This afternoon, when I was walking back from school with my son, we ran into a woman on the way. She was standing on a bridge looking at the side of the water. There was a #eend with a piece #plastic around his beak. I walked to the duck, but this jumped right into the water. Then called the animal ambulance, but they could only come later, because they were busy with other emergencies.

Action 1 #schepnet

After calling the animal ambulance, I went home and pulled a landing net out of the barn. Together with my son, my husband and our neighbors, I walked back to the duck. Meanwhile, many children were watching the duck along the waterfront. Our neighbor has previously taken a duck out of the water, so she took the lead to catch the duck with a landing net. She hung half with the landing net in the water, but she couldn't catch the duck. The duck was always too fast.

Action 2 #Stukjesbrood

A number of children decided to lure the duck with pieces of bread. Good news. Luckily, the duck could eat well. The bad news was, the duck was still too fast and wouldn't let himself get caught.

Action 3 #Dierenambulance

The animal ambulance came faster than expected. They brought a special safety net for ducks. This safety net was a lot better than my landing net. The staff of the animal ambulance also failed to catch the duck. After we had been busy for an hour, the duck flew away. #nature Tomorrow we'll see if the duck is back. Does anyone have a tip to help the duck?
