Indian Bharat Biotech reports that vaccine co-produced by the GOI in a study involving nearly 26,000 subjects is 81 percent effective in preventing corona infection. That is higher than the effectiveness of AstraZeneca vaccines (67 percent) or Johnson & Johnson (66 percent). Also, the Indian vaccine protects against the British variant.

Chinese vaccines from Sinopharm and Sinovac also reported good efficacy and few side effects in so-called phase-3 studies among tens of thousands of people.
