Vallenato and Accordion

#music Vallenato is a traditional musical genre that emerged from the fusion of cultural expressions in northern Colombia: songs by the cowboys of Magdalena Grande, African slaves songs and traditional dance rhythms of indigenous peoples of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. All these expressions have also been mixed with elements of Spanish poetry and the use of musical instruments of European origin. Nostalgic, joyful, sarcastic and humorous, the lyrics of the songs of the vallenato interpret the world through stories in which realism and imagination are combined. The traditional instruments of vallenato are three: the box (small drum played with your hands), the guacharaca (piece of wood with grooves that are scraped with a wire comb) and the accordion.
