A day in the mountains: Mont Pourri — nature treats... Friday 24 June 2011: Refuge de Rosuel: 1556 meters 🡪 Col de la Sachette: 2713 meters 🡪 Tigne Le Lac: 2095 meters

The Alps in spring: a magnificent backdrop of snowy peaks with large and smaller waterfalls and mountain rivers, steep paths, lush undergrowth in the woods and flowering grasslands...

Today we step from refuge de Rosuel to Tigne. Which col we will cross today we do not know very well. Is it Col de la Tourne or Col de la Sachette, it depends on the weather. Yesterday it rained pipe stems and on the Col de Palet there were even some snowflakes and hailstones.

Today they promise us nice weather. So we step up the wet, sometimes slippery, steep mountain path of the GR 5 with good courage. Immediately we will be rewarded for this effort by the nodding aves Geum rivale, fern rocket Hugueninia tanacetifolia, just not blooming martagonlilies Lilium martagon and white coleiruit Thalictrum aquilegifolium. If you climb a little further, the path becomes even wetter. There, step-by-step, scattered goldlevel Chrysosplenium alternifolium and the two-flowered violet Viola biflora, bright yellow colors at every step we take higher.

On a first plane on the path the arnica montana is waiting for us to flourish. Also a hard to name kind of Zeeuws knot Astrantia is hidden there. It is not the Astrantia major because the inflorescence is slightly smaller and the flowers have a white-green color.
