The Palafitos - The waterhouses

These are the Palafitos, the waterhouses on stilts that Venezuela owes its name. The Italians came there and found it so similar to Venice, that they called it Venice, which deformed into Venezuela!

I hope our friends from Venezuela will recognize this as a piece of their country.
