Today morning when I got up I said to myself, I want it to be a different day, and I started to think how to make this so, I decided to prepare to go out for breakfast something different, not healthy, but very delicious and there are not like tequeños and cakes with a very cold coca cola.
For no one it is a secret that we Venezuelans and even more so Zulians alivid for having a good coca cola well cold to calm the terrible heat of the city, I decided after a good time to leave the balanced diet in my diet for this breakfast.
Walk a few minutes from my house to get to the place where they sell the best tequeño cakes and empanadas in the southern area of Maracaibo.
I will briefly explain the recipe of tequeños.
1 lb semi-hard white cheese
2 cups of multi-purpose wheat flour
5 tablespoons butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
4 to 5 tablespoons of cold water
4 cups corn oil (for frying)
Preparation
1 Cut cheese into strips 3/4 inches wide by 2 3/4 inches long approximately.
2 On a flat surface, place the flour in the form of a crown with a hole in the middle, where you add butter and egg. Mix salt, sugar and cold water in a small container. Gradually add the water mixture to the flour and knead with your fingers until smooth and does not stick to your fingers. Make a ball and let it stand at least 1/2 hour at room temperature.
3 Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and with the help of a rolling pin spread the dough to form a square about 1/8” thick. Then cut into uniform strips with the help of a sharp knife.
4 Place the cheese on one end of the dough strip and wrap until you reach the other end (completely cover the cheese). Seal the ends with your fingers to prevent cheese from coming out when frying.
5 Heat the oil over high heat in a frying pan. When the oil is hot, turn the heat down to medium. Carefully fry the tequeños until golden and crispy.
6 Place on a kitchen absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
7 And it is said to eat!

ingredients
For the dough:
4 cups wheat flour 500 g.
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 egg yolks
¾ cup water 90 ml.
2 tablespoons of oil
For filling and frying:
400 g. of grated hard white cheese
1 cup frying oil 250 ml (you may need a little more according to the size of your pan)
Preparation
Preparation of cakes is quite easy. First you need to make the dough from wheat flour. This dough with consistency similar to bread dough is stretched, and cut into circles with a cookie cutter. With two caps a cupcake is made. A base lid is placed, the filling, and another top lid. They are put together by pressing the edges with a fork. Then fry them in plenty of oil and ready.
