Pattern baby blanket crochet USA English

Pattern baby blanket crochet USA English

Bron/source: http://refankosmetika.ru/post348204197/

I made a written pattern of the free drawn pattern of this baby blanket. The pattern I wrote is originaly in Dutch. I'm not a professional crochet-pattern-writer. I've used know terms and my own logic thinking to get any sense on paper of the pictures of the pattern.

Because there was a demand for an English translation I made it in USA English. I hope I didn't make any mistakes in the translation to USA english. It is always possible. Also that there are mistakes in the original written pattern in Dutch.

If you find any, please let me know!

Happy Crocheting!

Double edged flower blanket

Flower blanket itself

Hook: 7 (4,50cm)
Yarn: unknown
Difficulty: medium
Finished Size: length 90cm x height 78cm (length: chain 20*5+10=110, height: rows repeated 6 times,)
Increase/decrease: chain multiply by 20 (+10)
Pattern repeat: every 30 stitches by 10 rows makes 18cm by 13 cm

Note: because I made this pattern based on the picture-pattern it is possible that there are faults in is. That the written pattern does not have official crochet terms. It is the same reason why this pattern only is 1 repeated pattern and therefor a size of 18*13cm.

Terms:

Skip x = skip x stitches
Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
Trc = Triple crochet

*…* = repeated pattern: if you repeat the chain 20 by 5 to get 100 stitches (+10 more = 110) and therefor approximately a length of 90 cm you’ll have to repeat what’s between the *…* also 5 times.

[…] = turning stitches for the next row. I chose to put it in the pattern for the blanket itsef at the end of the row instead of the beginning of the next row, because you have to turn your work. For the border-pattern you don’t have to turn your work and I chose to put it in front of the new/next row to make clear you just have to keep going and do not turn the work.

Cluster = crochet in the same stitch: every crochet that needs to be made in the cluster will be followed with a plus (+). If the cluster has ended I type comma (,). Example: Cluster: 1dc + 1trc + 1dc, 2sc (it means that in the same stitch you need to make 1 double crochet, then 1 triple crochet and then 1 double crochet again. It ends when you see the comma (,) and can move on to the next stitches.)

3sc, 2dc, 4trc :Every crochet is supposed to be in a different stitch. With this example you need 9 stitches: 3+2+4 = 1sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1dc, 1dc, 1trc, 1trc, 1trc, 1trc

Outer Border

On this pattern I chose to put the “turning-chains”, which in the previous pattern I marked between […] at the end of the previous row, at the beginning of the new/next row. Because you don’t have to “turn” your work and just keep going in the same direction, I prefer to put it in front of the next row so it is visual clear it's the start of the new row, as in the picture-pattern as wel in the written pattern.

 Row 1: single crochet all around. When you reach the corners use 1ch. Repeat single crochet (sc) further until the next corner, ...

Tip: How many sc (single crochet) per stitch (on the borders of the blanket)
·        2 dc = 2 sc
·        3ch = 3 sc
·        Trc = 4 sc
·        …

Row 2: 3ch, 1ch, skip 2, *1dc, 1ch, skip 1*, repeat * * until corner, in corner 1trc mark this stitch, 1ch, repeat * *, … when you are back at the beginning: 1sl st

Row 3: 3ch, 1ch, skip1, *1dc (when you make your second dc in your next repeat MARK IT, it’s for the start of the inner border later on), 1ch, skip 1*, repeat * * until you are at the marked stitch in the corner, in marked stitch: 1dc + 1ch + 1dc mark this stitch + 1ch + 1dc + 1ch à repeat * * until you are back at the beginning and repeat the corners (marked stitches). At the end: 1 sl st

Row 4: 3ch, 1ch, skip 1, *1dc, 1ch, skip 1*, repeat * * until you reach the marked stitch, in marked stitch: 1dc + 1ch + 1dc mark this stitch + 1ch + 1dc + 1ch à repeat * * until you are back at the beginning and repeat the corners (marked stitches). At the end: 1 sl st
