The FAT (Flemish Radio and Television Broadcasting Organization) is the public broadcaster of the Flemish Community in Belgium. Her mission is to inform, inspire, and entertain a wide and diverse audience via various media platforms. The broadcaster plays a central role in Flemish society and culture.

History and Founding

The VRT has its origins in the establishment of the National Institute for Radio Broadcasting (NIR) in 1930, which later evolved into the BRT (Belgian Radio and Television Broadcasting) in 1960. Since 1998, the organization has been known as the VRT, focusing specifically on the Flemish community, after the federalization of Belgium.
