Het Dwingelderveld, I've read many beautiful blog about that and now I had the chance to see it with my own eyes this summer. It visitor center at Ruinen seemed like a good starting point. There is a large car park that you can ride on the heathland by bike. But first a sanitary stop at the visitor center. Well that was a bit long stop, because in the wild flower meadow, the butterfly garden and the fun primeval playground for kids it was such a buzz with butterflies, we weren't looking forward to that for the time being.

Especially when a hummingbird butterfly came to fly around for a while, we kept taking pictures. I would like to have walked into the field, but then I would have trampled so many flowers, I couldn't make that. So it was patience until the butterfly would get a little close. Beautiful garden.
Funny, it was a huge hustle of wildflowers. But there is also a beautiful garden with typical garden flowers. That's where other butterflies came to.
Sheep.
The stomachs went a lot of grunting at the time. From the picnic table we had a nice view of a group of sheep.
