The number of #zeeschildpadden in and around Indonesia has declined sharply over the last decade. Fortunately, a lot of conservation programs have been started to help the bugs. The result is that last week, with the help of local volunteers, several organizations released more than ten thousand baby sea turtles on the beach of Gianvar in Bali.

Surviving breeding process
One of the volunteers says that there were fewer and fewer turtle eggs on the Indonesian archipelago, which is why they are so happy that their initiatives are achieving results. “We collect the eggs on the island and store them. In this way more turtles survive the breeding process and then we can release them into the ocean. '

This is not the only good news in the world of turtles. Balinese authorities returned twenty-five adult turtles to sea last Wednesday after rescuing the bugs from the hands of illegal traders.

All these initiatives ensure that the population of sea turtles can regain strength on the Indonesian islands.
