“Here are the finalists for the Amsterdam Mertje of the Year 2019!” And here they come, all ten, down the stairs. After the 'walk of fame' in the Amsterdam City Hall, they are presented to the public, to the alderman of education and to the children's ombudsman Metropool Amsterdam. The children's mayor is also present. Parents are in the bleachers. Downstairs in the banks of the city council are the nominated Amsterdammertjes. They are not going to the final, but they are present at this SuperRadendag. They can ask questions to the finalists and participate in the workshops that are being organised today.

Dunya and I, of course, come running in the morning at the last minute. The schedule was half past ten, so I could go to church to sing. It didn't work.
