There are many beautiful walking routes in North Brabant. And every now and then we find a nice one to go for a walk. This time we chose the Moerputtenbrug route near 's-Hertogenbosch.
With another quarantine period behind us, we were ready for a nice walk in nature. So looking for a route that is fun for the children, is not too long and which is also accessible with dog. This time we ended up at the Moerputtenbrug route. So everything hoisted in the car and on the direction of S'-Hertogenbosch.
At the starting point it was indicated that the route was currently difficult to travel due to the heavy rainfall. That it could only be done with good sturdy boots. We don't care about this (once climbed one on the Flip-Flops de El Teide in Tenerife). So take a walk.
The first part of the route is on an elevated part to the Moerputten Bridge. You can already see the bridge in the distance and this motivated the kids to keep walking because they wanted to see the bridge. When they arrived at the bridge, they loved seeing. In the middle of nature, the history of the bridge is explained, so also interesting for the kids. After reading through it all, it became a trip of almost 600 meters across the bridge. The kids loved it, the dog a little less due to the surface.
After the bridge, you walk through nature and we found out what you had to wear sturdy boots for. It looked like a mudhole on part of the route. We fell quite far away and all our shoes were brown with mud. We came across some small bridges. And then came the most fun part for the kids: a mega-long footpath. It looked like we were walking in the Jungle or through a Mangrove. Beautiful green and under the decking water. What a cool sight that was.
In the end, you will find yourself back on the first path that goes towards the bridge. So you're doing a bit double. But it is also nice to take the Half-Soles route with you right away. You do not double the first part, but you still have a nice section of extra footpath back to the parking lot. And in terms of distance, it's not much further, perhaps a few hundred meters.
The total distance of this route over the Moerputten Bridge is 48 kilometers. I think if you take the Half-Soles route, the total comes to 5 kilometers. All in all, a nice route, sometimes less nice parts, but you always have that, I think. We had a lovely walk.
