De Vreugderijkerwaard river landscape

Are you looking for a walk near Zwolle? Visit the Vreugderijkerwaard and take a nice walk or bike ride through the river landscape.

A marked route of more than 5 kilometers runs through the area. In principle, you can do that in just over an hour, but if you like to take pictures like me, you'll have to take longer.

The area is formed by a side channel on the IJssel. That side channel was dug to give the water more space, to prevent flooding.

Many seeds are carried through the IJssel, so you can find many unusual plants there.

There is a herd of cows grazing, which were just brought to another place by the farmer when I walked there, nice to see.
