Week without meat
With the National Week Without Meat & Dairy, we are calling on participants to leave meat and dairy alone for a week. For example, we want to promote a flexitarian diet, where meat and dairy are alternated with vegetarian and plant-based alternatives. Not eating meat, fish and dairy for a day more often is a small effort but has an enormously positive impact on people, animals and the climate. By not consuming meat and dairy during the National Week Without Meat & Dairy, you reduce the environmental pressure of your food. For example, you save on water use and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.
Saving water
Anyone who insists not to eat meat and dairy for one week saves a whopping 193 LITRES OF WATER If you don't eat meat and dairy for one week, you'll save around 193 litres of water. This amount of water was used differently to produce your daily portion of meat and dairy, for example for the production of animal feed and by the (milk) livestock industry itself.
