The 1950s and 1960s
During the 50s and 60s, the swimming cap won again in popularity because cheerful bathing hats became fashionable. In the 1950s they were decorated for the first time, and in the 1960s there were colourful bathing hats with petals
The late 60s and early 70s
In the late 60s, long hair for both men and women became so popular, that virtually everyone had long hair. It was no longer enforced to oblige bathing hats by people with long hair, so this obligation was abolished. This created a new valley in the popularity of the swimming cap and during the 1970s bathing hats disappeared from the scene.
In the 80s and 90s, competition and fitness baths were built all over the world, which brought the bathing cap back in popularity. Then the bathing caps came back to the fore.
