Elephants have some weird tidbits.

They are imposing animals anyway and unfortunately they are an endangered species.

Elephants are the only mammals that can't jump. There are still a number of animals such as hippos and rhinos that won't get records, but they can take their 4 legs off the ground at a time.

Elephants can't do this.

Elephants can also 'hear' with their paws. Elephants have excellent hearing anyway, but the African elephant has some kind of sensors in their front legs that capture the sound through the ground and transmit vibrations through the bones in their paws, to their shoulders and to middle ear.

Another third rarity for the elephant: their closest relative is the 'Cape clip badge', a type of guinea pig that lives in the rocky regions of Africa, and in terms of teeth, toes and skull, they have many characteristics in common. Their common ancestors have been extinct for 60 million years.
