What are dogs allowed to eat or not?
What can a dog eat and not eat? Our dogs are different than their owners. As a result, seemingly harmless products can be dangerous for your four-legged friend. A dog is a carnivorous, but also because its digestive and metabolic system works very differently than that of humans. As a result, the basic food of a dog should be based on meat and as little irritating fillers as possible, such as cereals, corn and corn flour. Added substances such as fragrances, colour and flavourings, but also spices, saturated fats and salt should really be avoided. In addition, there is a difference on which the dog body breaks down certain substances. For example, the sweetener xylitol (from chewing gum and gingerbread) or the bitter theobromine (from chocolate) can poison your dog. While we humans don't have a problem with this. Dogs like many things and also seem very harmless, because they are good for the people, this does not mean that they are also good for the dog, such as paracetamol, walnuts, garlic, nuts, onions and so on, you should definitely not give to the dog.

Please note that your dog can not get to the medicine from open cabinets or a handbag that is open. Also, do not give them painkillers or drugs that are actually intended for humans. A single paracetamol can already be fatal for a small dog, the dog will vomit, and become drowsy, get diarrhea and may have liver problems. If your dog has eaten something you do not trust, please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
