How our constant noise destroys marine life
Roaring ships and pounding piles are a disaster for marine animals, according to extensive research. Because of our 'noise pollution' they sometimes die a horrible death. 'The animal hair cells were practically inflated.'
The container ship 'Ever Given' is fixed at the time of writing in the Suez Canal with roughly twenty thousand containers on board. It thus blocks the main artery of world trade, crucial to the functioning of the still highly intertwined global economy. This logistics disaster does not stand alone and is related to a wider crisis in which the container system is located.
