Work songs are songs that are sung while working or performing a task. It is also a way of expressing workers' labor about his/her job and working conditions. This kind of song exists all over the world, for example: Japanese work songs are called min-yo, while in Trinidad they sing the so-called gayap. Black Americans enslaved sang many work songs from which spirituals and the blues were derived. Workers such as miners, sheep scissors and people in prison sing work songs while performing their duties.
