Area Code 484 is an overlay area code covering much of the same territory as Area Code 610. It was created in 1999 as a split from Area Code 610. It serves much of eastern Pennsylvania outside Philadelphia and much of southern New Jersey outside Newark and Jersey City.
484 code serving the eastern and southeastern regions of Pennsylvania, including most of the Delaware Valley. The area code stretches across much of south-central Pennsylvania, from the eastern suburbs of Philadelphia to the New Jersey border, including areas to the west of Philadelphia, along with Reading, Allentown, Bethlehem, Lancaster, Lebanon, Doylestown, Quakertown, Norristown, and Easton. It was one of the original area codes established in 1947.
Note that while most of Southeastern Pennsylvania uses area code 610, several central and western counties remain in the 215/484 overlay. This means that some numbers, which were 215, could be called from these other areas as 610/484- numbers.
