What causes migraine?

A migraine is much worse than a headache. Emotional stress, caffeine menstrual period, menopause are all causes of migraine. It is often accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. It can cause debilitating throbbing pain that can cause a person to remain in bed for days. Some symptoms are loss of appetite, feeling very warm or cold, diarrhoea dizziness and blurred vision, pale skin colour.

What causes migraine:

- Emotional stress: during stressful events, certain chemicals are released to combat the situation.
The release of these chemicals can bring about migraine. Other emotions like worry, anxiety,
excitement can increase muscle tension and dilate blood vessels, making migraine more severe.

- Missing a meal can also trigger migraine.

- Having too much caffeine or withdrawal from it can also cause migraine especially when caffeine level drops suddenly.

- Using pain-relieving medication every time can cause a rebound headache

- Hormonal changes in females like menstrual period and menopause also causes migraine.

- When the light becomes too flashy, fluorescent lights, lights from the TV, can trigger migraine in some people.

- Changes in normal sleep patterns.

- Loud noises, and many more.
