National law in the Netherlands

National law in the Netherlands consists of two parts: private law and public law. Private law is also called civil law or civil law, because it regulates the rules/laws between citizens and between consumers and businesses. Public law is intended for matters between citizens and the government or parts thereof (province and municipality). Furthermore, public law is for all people in the country.
