What does drinking whole milk do with our health?
Drinking whole milk is healthier than semi-skimmed milk, whatever self-stated diet gurus may say. Saturated fats from whole milk do not harm our health. This has been scientifically proven before. But now it also came to light that the same whole milk protects children from excess weight. This is now apparent from the results of a large-scale scientific research conducted by the St. Michael's Hospital of Unity Health in Toronto, Canada.
What does whole milk mean for our health?
In recent years, a lot of research has been done on the impact of drinking whole milk on our health and obesity. The results of these large-scale studies were now published in the authoritative journal The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. It shows that drinking whole milk makes you lose weight faster.
Drinking whole milk, semi-skimmed or low-fat?
There are clear differences between whole milk, semi-skimmed and skimmed. The fat percentage is important here. Low-fat dairy products are low-fat, while full dairy products such as whole milk contain the most fat. Milk and milk products are an important source of high-quality protein, vitamins A, B2 and calcium. Both the lean, semi-full and full variant contain about the same amount of healthy nutrients. The content of vitamin A decreases when skimming and is therefore less in skimmed milk and milk products. The less fat dairy and milk contains, the less calories we find in it.
