Space, planets, stars, celestial bodies, galaxy, black hole and universe are some of the terms which might have fascinated many of us at least once in the lifetime. And if you are interested in these, then I can’t believe that you have never heard of NASA. It is an American aeronautics and space research organization which has made several space related discoveries, sent humans on Moon and in space, launched the Hubble Telescope, assisted in the establishment of the International Orbit Station, and sent numerous probes and shuttles into space as the agency in command of America's space program. What does NASA stand for?
NASA is a short form for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is a United States government agency in charge of air and space science and technology. It advances human spaceflight aeronautics, space science, and space applications via scientific and technical developments. The agency was created to monitor American space exploration and aeronautics research in the USA.  On October 1, 1958, NASA began operations. The administrator is in-charge of NASA who is nominated by the president and then confirmed by the Senate. The founding of NASA was directly related to national defense; it was created to safeguard America from dangers.

Where is NASA?
Its headquarters is located in Washington, D.C. In the United States, there are ten NASA centers. There are additional seven smaller NASA research and development facilities where scientists test and analyze Earth and space. NASA employs thousands of people! Although becoming an astronaut is the most well-known profession at NASA, astronauts only make up a small portion of the workforce. It employs a large number of engineers and scientists as well as other professionals including secretaries, authors, attorneys, and even teachers.

What Does NASA Do?
Many people are familiar with NASA's efforts. However, many people have no idea about the spectrum of activities undertaken by the agency.
Some of the major activities performed by NASA are as follows:
•    In space, astronauts undertake scientific research.  
•    It uses to build satellites.
•    Here, scientists can learn more about Earth because of the satellites.
•    It puts space probes into orbit.
•    Its scientists investigate events both within the solar system and beyond.  
•    Air travel and other aspects of flying have improved because of innovations.
•    It is also launching a new effort to send humans to the Moon and Mars to investigate them.

NASA is responsible for a wide range of activities in addition to its core missions.  NASA also shares what they've learned with the rest of the world. Non-NASA employees can utilize NASA ideas to create innovations. These wonderful innovations have the potential to improve life on Earth. It also assists instructors in preparing kids to become future engineers, scientists, astronauts, and other NASA employees. They'll be the explorers who continue to explore the solar system and the universe.  NASA has a long history of funding programs and activities that engage students, educators, families, and communities in the thrill of exploration. Teachers may get training from NASA to discover innovative approaches to teach science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students are also involved in NASA missions to assist them to become more interested in studying space and universe.
NASA has a long list of achievements, from launching the first American artificial satellites into space for scientific and communications objectives to sending probes to study the Solar System's dynamics.
