On cruise ship The Diamond Princess, which is currently off the coast of Japan, the highest infection rate of the #coronavirus in the world. 355 people have detected infection with the virus, which means that almost 10% of the 3711 people on board are infected. Not everyone on board has been tested. The ship also contains five Dutch people, who would not have been infected.

Of course, the Dutch authorities are silent about what they intend to do if the coronavirus here in the country really gets around. That would cause too much unrest. The example of the West Amsterdam makes it clear enough that the Chinese road will be chosen.

What awaits us if the coronavirus actually pops up in the Netherlands? The way in which the passengers of the West Amsterdam are treated gives a taste of this. Eleven of them wanted to travel home via Schiphol. They are prohibited because they were presumably in contact with a patient and could therefore possibly be a carrier. NRC reports that the two Dutch people are not welcome. All this is done on the recommendation of the RIVM.
