This episode has a lot of potential, but the execution is similar to the second one. Considering it's an exploration of the Multiverse - the driving force behind many of the upcoming films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the show suggests flaws could be a worrying sign that the most successful entertainment franchise is coming. Like the first episode, which retroactively shows the MCU as being smarter, the third episode does its best to be cozier than The Incredible Hulk, a movie that's been subject to a stepmother for nearly a decade and a half.
Multiverse
We expect the Multiverse of Madness to visit many worlds in the MCU multiverse, which is why Xochitl Gomez's character Miss America Chavez, skipping reality, joins the fight. Series creator AC Bradley promised fans on Twitter that Marvel Studios' first animated series will feature "more than a few amazing MCU cameos" - and now we know Frank Grillo will return as Crossbones. It's important to note that Marvel Studios' first animated series won't change the existing canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so you don't have to worry about any permanent changes affecting your favorite characters.
Studios
After three successful Disney+ shows, Marvel Studios' decision to release an anthology animated series took viewers by surprise. The anthology series, which will be produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, will explore how the MCU would change if certain events happened differently, as if Loki wielded Thor's hammer Mjolnir. Feige explained in the series' announcement that he would take "key moments" from across the MCU and reshape them.
Disney Investor Day
On April 11, 2019, during Disney Investor Day, it was announced that the series would premiere within the first year of Disney+. In December 2019, Kevin Feige revealed that the first season would consist of ten episodes, with the second already in pre-production. Footage from the first episode was shown during D23 2019, [18] with footage from the series also included in "Expanding the Universe," a Marvel Studios special that premiered on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
Streaming
As of September 2018, Marvel Studios was developing several series for the Disney streaming service of parent company Marvel Studios, Disney+; Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was expected to take on a "hands-on role" in any development of the series, [14] focusing on "managing" the actors who would reprise their roles from the films. Marvel's plan for the series was to have actors playing characters in the MCU films reprise their roles in the series. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, The Collector, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel are also featured in the animated series, but with different voice actors than Tony Stark, the cinematic counterparts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Variety
On October 28, 2020, Variety reported that Laura Karpman would compose the soundtrack for the animated series. Uatu's appearance in the MCU was revealed in a recent poster for the first Marvel Studios animated series, which stays true to the quirky look that Uatu has always worn in the pages of Marvel comics. In the Disney Plus series, Jeffrey Wright will voice Uatu, a member of an advanced alien race known as the Watchers.
Comics
Like the comics of the same name, Marvel Studios' first animated series will delve into the MCU's most famous moments and wonder what would have happened if they had originated differently. Based on the longtime comic book series and narrated by Uatu the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright, who doubles as Commissar Gordon in 2022's Batman), each episode of this anthology animated series explores an event in an alternate universe MCU. where characters we know and love are thrown into new circumstances and their actions change the course of history. While each episode of the first season showed us alternate universes where key events unfolded differently, it's becoming increasingly clear that this series plays an important role in the MCU's puzzle. After three series gave Marvel fans what they wanted during the arid film, the long storytelling and the MCU are looking for something different.
MCU fans
Now MCU fans will be heading into new projects with a better understanding of the multiverse's perils and changing timelines. Loki
After Loki's season finale blew up the MCU's Sacred Timeline to introduce us to the multiverse, the new Marvel Disney + What If series. On the surface, the fourth series of Disney+'s The Juggernauts - an animated show that explores how famous stories could be different with a major tweak - seemed like a chance to have some fun with the Marvel mythos, offering plenty of "Wow" moments. along the way. Eventually, the animated dove plunged headlong into the Marvel multiverse, revisiting beloved MCU characters and rewriting their stories with often tragic endings; and for a franchise where canon is key, some disagreement was inevitable.
Trailer
The first trailer also hinted at some darker timelines to explore, one of which appears to be inspired by the popular Marvel Zombies comic series, which sees Bucky face off against the undead Captain America. When Doctor Strange decides to disrupt Spider-Man's timeline (as expected in the new movie trailer) or Wanda tries to rescue her kids from another timeline (a possibility that fans are exploring after seeing the post) ), fans will now know the stakes. - a scene from the "WandaVision" series finale).
