What is a badger castle?
Badgers are nocturnal animals, they are recognizable by the two black stripes on the side of his head. That can never miss!
Badgers are predators and family of the martens. They live with one or more families in a large hole underground. Such a hole is called a badger castle. It consists of a number of pipes with a small chamber at the end. Such a corridor has a diameter of 30 cm. Each room is cozily lined with moss, ferns or leaves.
The hole is even cleaned regularly! Because ties love cleanliness. That's why they poop and pee neatly on a spot outside their castle.

And I who thought that badgers were only nocturnal animals, and therefore can't be seen during the day.
Hier in Roemenië zitten ook tamelijk veel dassen. Dit helaas dode exemplaar vond mijn vriend toen hij op het land ging werken.

@Albert van den Berg Ohhh! Wat naar! Ja, ik heb gelezen dat vrouwtjes tussen de 7 en 14 kg kunnen wegen en mannetjes zelfs tussen de 9 en 17 kg.
