Prime number

A natural number, which is greater than 1 called a prime number. A prime number is not a product of two smaller natural numbers. A natural number greater than 1 and which is not Prime is called a composite number.


What is prime?

The value of being prime is called prime. It is a method to check if a given number n is a multiple of any integer between 2 and n. Faster algorithms include mirrors - the Rabin initial test, which is fast but has a small error probability, and the Aks initial test, which always gives the correct answer in polynomial time. Particularly fast methods are medium for special types of numbers such as Mersenne numbers. The largest known prime number to date is the Mersenne prime with 24,862,048 decimal digits.

Largest prime number

The Greek mathematician Euclid demonstrated that there is no greatest prime number in the set of prime numbers.  Many scientists and mathematicians are still searching for it as part of the great Internet Mersenne Prime Search.

Possible test for prime number

Many mathematicians have worked out every possible test for numbers larger than those where test division is practically applicable. The limiting method of specific number forms includes the Papan test for Fermat numbers, Proth's theorem, the Lucas–Lehmer elementary test, and the Lucas elementary test.


Applications of prime numbers outside of pure mathematics fell apart in the 1970s when public-key cryptography and the RSA cryptosystem were invented and based on these primes were used.


Why is 1 not a prime number?

Because it has only one factor namely 1, it is not called a prime number. Prime numbers need to have two characters.


Conclusion

If a prime is changed to 1 to be called a prime, then many statements containing prime numbers have to be rewritten. In the 20th century, mathematicians began to agree that 1 is not a prime, but has its own special category, a unit. Since long ago, prime numbers have aroused curiosity in the minds of mathematicians. Even today, many mathematicians continue to discover prime numbers with mysterious properties.
