What is antifa?

In the wake of the election of Donald Trump, Antifa has been receiving more media attention. Antifa is portrayed by Republican propaganda as a highly organized, dangerous terrorist group worthy of national watch lists. According to right-wing media outlets, Antifa members looted and rioted. This sort of violence has been condemned by Democratic politicians. Some left-leaning activists deny that Antifa is more than a movement, and its rhetoric is exaggerated. The antifascist movement is decentralized, a loose conglomeration of individuals and groups.
